Class 37

John Azevedo
Manager
Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines, Azevedo A-Bar Ranch

John is a fourth generation farmer in the Healdsburg area where he manages his families farming operation and production of ultra-premium wine grapes. John has been actively involved in operations on the family farm since he was very young. John is also a Grower Relations Manager for Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines where he is responsible for sourcing ultra-premium wine grapes for wine brands within the company portfolio. As a licensed Pest Control Advisor, he works closely to select soft chemicals for sustainable wine grape production.

His love of family and friends as well as the outdoors often leads him to spend recreational time combining the two. Spending time fishing, hunting, and camping or simply working in his garden is how you will find John when he is not at work.

John graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2000 with a B.S. in Viticulture Production Management after attending Santa Rosa Junior College and receiving his A.S. in Agriculture Management.

John takes an active leadership role in the community. He currently serves as a Director for the Sonoma County Farm Bureau, the Sonoma County Vineyard Technical Group, and the Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair. For the last two years John has Co-Chaired the Viticulture Contests for the Healdsburg Fair.

John remains living near the family ranch where he hopes to someday raise his family and continue the over 102 year farming tradition they have there.
