Ladi Asgill

Sustainable Conservation

Ladi is with a highly respected environmental organization known for working collaboratively with the California agricultural industry and government regulators to develop solutions to environmental challenges. He is responsible for promoting farming practices like conservation tillage and introducing innovative manure management technologies like anaerobic digesters on dairy farms. He is focused on using his business expertise to implement these practices so that they are economically viable for farmers. Ladi is also helping California's agricultural leadership to develop a proactive response to the issue of climate change.

Ladi grew up with a passion for farming, and an appreciation for the great outdoors. This interest led him to owning and managing a poultry farm after graduating from college. His love for the outdoors and his agribusiness training serves him well today in helping farmers find ways to earn a living while protecting their farmland for future generations.

Ladi was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics and earned an MBA in Agribusiness from Santa Clara University in 1991.

Ladi is an active leader in his community and in issues affecting the Central Valley. In recent years he has served as president of the Delhi Chamber of Commerce and as a financial stewardship consultant with the Southern Baptist Convention. He currently serves on the board of directors of California/Nevada Soil and Water Conservation Society, Institute for the Development of Emerging Area Leaders, and is a member of the California Roundtable on Agriculture and the Environment.

Ladi and his wife, Mary, live in Delhi with their daughter Sarian, and sons Kemi and Sawyer. Mary teaches English at Turlock High School.
