Scott heads an agricultural lender with almost half a billion dollars in loan volume primarily in southern Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties. Kingsburg Land Bank is a farmer-owned cooperative with over twelve hundred loans and is part of the U.S. AgBank Farm Credit district.
Scott grew up on a livestock and row crop farm in northwest Iowa. In the late 1970's, Scott's family moved to California to begin a farming operation consisting of table and raisin grapes as well as tree fruit near Kingsburg.
In 1982, Scott graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business - Finance. Since 1983, with the exception of one year, Scott has been with the Farm Credit System serving in various capacities throughout the states of California and Iowa. In 2004, he assumed his current role as President and CEO. Scott also serves on the board of directors for AgVantis, an information technology provider for nineteen Farm Credit associations in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas. In addition, he serves on an advisory board of the Entrepreneur Enrichment Program of the Fermanian Business Center at Point Loma Nazarene University
Scott has been active in his community serving as a coach to several youth soccer and basketball teams. He also takes a leadership role in his church presently serving as a member of the Kingsburg Community Church Board of Directors.
Scott and his wife, Carol, live in Kingsburg. They have two children, Carlene, 23, who is a recent graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and Tyler, 20, who is attending Cal Poly, SLO.
