39Program Update: Leadership Lessons
Class 39 is back at it, starting year two with the San Quentin seminar. The purpose of the seminar is not necessarily to teach the fellows about the death penalty, but to provide an environment for them to practice critical thinking. In the case of the death penalty, we find compassionate, thoughtful and rational people having very different opinions about the same issue. For a leader it is important to be able to see an issue from another's perspective. Truly understanding another's perspective allows for the type of communication that can lead to finding common ground.
